I found this Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake while driving down an access road in the Florida panhandle. Nothing too special in this video, but I do cover how rattlesnakes produce their rattling sound.

I don't typically advocate for interacting with venomous snakes. The people who get bitten are the people trying to interact with them (in either a positive way or negative way).

However, I will always move them off the road to avoid some redneck running them over. For this, I use a snake hook to either encourage them to move on their own, or assist. I will also note that I was within range to be struck on the tips of my toes in this video. I was watching the snake like a hawk for any sudden changes to a defensive (not aggressive) behavior.

I took this opportunity to take a video of what cottonmouths are really like. They aren't mean snakes. They aren't out to get us. They won't chase you. If anyone ever tells you a cottonmouth chased them, they reveal what they look like when they are lying. Cottonmouths want nothing to do with us. They just want to get away. They just want to go somewhere that they can feel safe.
